Hello!
I'm Tyler Dunaway and I am an Instructional Designer with a 17-year background in innovative education, language acquisition, and curriculum design and development. I enjoy using backwards planning to identify gaps and find the solution to bridge those gaps.
I spent the early parts of my life traveling and playing music, and in many cases traveling to play music. The travel part is what led me to a degree in Spanish and Latin American studies. I began teaching in 2006 and in the years that I have been in education have served as a Teacher, an Administrator, a Curriculum Writer, Mentor, and Coach. My love of technology and enthusiasm for learning, enjoyment of the language acquisition process, and awareness that language opens doors to the cultures of the world helped me grow my craft and develop my skills as a talented educator. I later earned a Master's in Education and have continued to grow and develop my craft each year. I have presented at school, district, and regional levels as well as earned recognition for my service at district and State levels. I really enjoy creating experiences that have the learner engaged in a way that they do not realize they are learning. I am continuously evaluating my content as well as receiving feedback on courses and adjusting to meet the needs of the learner while also making the process more efficient. I want to bring these skills into the corporate world where I can use my experiences and skills to help businesses accomplish their goals in a way that is engaging, cost-effective, and builds on their strengths.
Testimonials
"Tyler always brings innovative and new ideas to the staff as he wants to bring out the best in teachers. He is willing to lend a hand and learn new things in order to be able to contribute to an overall education, not just to his classroom"

"Tyler has a passion for teaching. He really strives to deliver quality instruction to students. He looks for new & innovative teaching approaches, continues to challenge himself and his students. He is an inspiration to his students and to other teachers."
"Tyler Dunaway is a leader within the classroom, but also within the entire school. Over the years, he has quietly built strong, positive relationships with students and staff. His efforts with the students are amazing, and the reason that I know this is because he shared a video with the entire staff to give us a glimpse into his class. Not to brag, but to challenge the staff to engage in the reflective process of teaching. He is always working towards becoming a better teacher - changing his curriculum with what's best for the students, trying new games, creating engaging lessons- he's never just phoning it in. This is a person who will never go out of his way to get attention, but he deserves it. He is the epitome of someone who should be the teacher of the year."
"Tyler leads by example not only in the classroom but outside of the classroom. He is involved in instructional rounds to grow as a leader and takes information that he has learned to challenge other staff members. He is quiet but powerful."
